After rising to fame as a contestant on BBC talent show ‘I’d Do Anything’ in 2008, Samantha Barks has wowed fans and critics alike with her stunning voice and captivating performances in film, theatre and television. She has since undertaken starring roles in the UK touring productions of ‘Oliver!’ and ‘Cabaret’.
It was Barks’ performance as Éponine in the West End production of ‘Les Misérables’, however, that led to her first movie credit, reprising the role in Tom Hooper’s Oscar winning adaptation. Showered with critical acclaim, she was nominated for a prestigious Screen Actors Guild Award and announced as Empire Magazine’s Best Female Newcomer. Following the completion of her lead role on the West End in Jason Robert Brown’s ‘The Last Five Years’, Samantha performed at Southampton Mayflower and the Royal Albert Hall and, most recently, made her New York debut at Feinstein’s/54 Below.
